Workshop: Urban storytelling with Story Jam

  • Hausmania Hausmanns gate 34 0182 Oslo (kart)

Urban storytelling

Story Jam (UK)

What is a forest, anyway?

Lucy and Alys invite you to come and explore how the traditional stories talk to our modern environments, and how the places we live can inform how we tell our stories.

Let’s explore our imagery and our vocabulary - perhaps they will change. Maybe we will find new and deeper connections with our tales?

All are welcome, seasoned storyteller or just dipping a toe in for the first time. This playful workshop will offer games and exercises in a welcoming, friendly session that asks you to come with your curiosity.

Story Jam is a creative collaboration between Alys Torrance and Lucy Lill.

We come from theatre and comedy backgrounds, bringing our love of playful performance to all our events. Both of us make solo shows too.

Story Jam storytelling nights have run since 2012. We also invite other artists onboard for storytelling shows that tour to theatres, festivals and arts centres. Our last touring show, Women Who Gave No F*cks, toured nationally to sell-out audiences. In addition, we work in London communities and schools with charities and cultural organisations, using storytelling to bring families and neighbours together, to promote literacy, engagement with heritage and environment, and just for the joy of hearing and telling stories.

We also lead workshops for storytellers and for the story-curious.

Collaboration is at the heart of all we do – we love to find interesting people and invite them to get stuck in to Story Jam.
